Beef finishing

Weaner calves and store cattle are grown out in the same system as our lambs — settled in quietly, adapted onto feed and finished to abattoir spec in our own pens.

01

How cattle move through

01

Weaner & store intake

Calves are selected on frame, condition and health, weighed on arrival and given time in a quiet pen with water and roughage before feed is introduced.

02

Settling in

Cattle take longer to settle than lambs, so we let them. Low-stress handling, plenty of bunk space and steady routine through the first weeks.

03

Growing out

Energy lifts gradually onto the finishing ration, fed fresh daily. Pens are walked every morning and anything off its feed is picked up early.

04

Finishing & dispatch

Cattle are drafted on condition and finish rather than on a calendar, and loaded to abattoir spec when they are genuinely ready.
